My Bio
Typical geek in his 30s who should know better, but have always liked art and design and like to draw fan art when time and family allow. Ok the art might not be top notch but I enjoy preparing it.

Love going to the cinema, especially to see anything SciFi/Comic-Book/Fantasy/Action/Cheesy Horror and love to watch movies from the 1980s and 1990s that I grew up with, Star Wars original trilogy, Aliens, Die Hard, The Terminator, Indiana Jones Trilogy, Total Recall, James Bond films, Starship Troopers, Pulp Fiction etc... Also like quality TV, for example Homeland, The Thick of It, The Office, QI etc...

Not so keen on the Star Wars prequels, CGI, crappy remakes, 3D movies,

Despite my love of 1980s movies, got a new fave film from 2010: Kick-Ass. Absolutely loved it and as I'm a huge fan of the film and comic, the avatar is from a sketch by John Romita Jr which I have coloured.
Wow, this year has been so busy and hectic for me, apologies that I havent been very active on dA, the old enemy time has been against me. However, there is some light at the end of the tunnel and I hope to drop in more frequently over the next few months. Being a huge Kick-Ass fan, highlight of the year was seeing Kick-Ass2 (6 times at the cinema!). I thought the movie was really great fun and a good effort by Jeff Wadlow, BUT there were several things I was disappointed with. As a follow up to the first film, the sequel felt very 'average' to me, with some great scenes and some truly awful scenes. I will probably write up a few thoughts af

I have always enjoyed going to 'the pictures' and this is my list of movies seen at the cinema in 2012, together with my 5 star rating and a comment or two on each film. Mission Impossible Ghost Protocol **** The Mission Impossible series is back on form, but I can't remember anything that happened after the scenes in Dubai. Hugo**** A charming love letter to the early days of cinema. Always a pleasure to see Frances de la Tour. Sherlock Holmes 2 Game of Shadows*** Good fun but for me, this franchise suffers from comparisons with the BBC TV Series 'Sherlock' starring Martin Freeman and Benedict Cumberbatch which is superior. Kick-Ass 2

0 min read
Kick-Ass 2 is currently in production for release in Summer 2013, let's hope new director Jeff Wadlow doesn't mess it up! Hopefully, if he has been handpicked by Matthew Vaughan, then Jeff's script should be sharp and smart and witty and I am sure Matthew Vaughan, as a shrewd producer, knows what he is doing. Whatever, at least Jeff Wadlow creates a good first impression in this youtube interview: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9t7R4xcKUPI Let's hope he keeps that off-beat, unusual vibe from the first movie, with that lovely combination of action and humour and visuals and story, all knitted together with heart and emotion and the awesome mu

Dude, Davoe its been a while! I recently watch a movie called "Super", youve probably heard of it since i know you dig that kind of stuff. If you haven't seen it already, you should watch it! on the surface it looks like Kick Ass but seriously, thats where the similarities end.
Yeah Super is good fun. Quite a raw and brutal movie, a lot more realistic than Kick-Ass. I have it on DVD and really enjoyed it, that end scene for Boltie is pretty shocking and unexpected.
